The 2006 La Vina de Andres Romeo is sourced from a single vineyard. Opaque purple-colored, the wine’s legs ooze slowly down the glass. Aromas of smoke, cedar, pencil lead, underbrush, and blackberry are enticing leading to a tightly wound, dense, powerful Rioja.

Opaque purple. Blackberry, cassis and cherry aromas are complemented by anise, violet and bitter chocolate. Juicy, intensely flavored and quite fresh, with a less exotic character than the La Cueva bottling. Youthfully taut Rioja with a firm tannin/acid spine supporting its potent dark berry and mineral flavors. Finishes with good grip and a strong, dusty mineral quality that hangs on tenaciously. This needs time.
